HF Antenna Ground Radial / Counterpoise System
The GW Series Ground Wire Kit is specifically designed for HF amateur radio antenna systems.
It serves as an effective RF ground or counterpoise system for vertical antennas, portable antennas, GP antennas, and base station installations. By establishing an efficient RF return path, the GW Series helps improve antenna matching, reduce common-mode currents, enhance radiation efficiency, and optimize overall communication performance.
Constructed with a heavy-duty stainless steel terminal and stainless steel wire assembly, the GW Series provides excellent durability, corrosion resistance, and ease of deployment, making it ideal for POTA, SOTA, emergency communications, field operations, and permanent outdoor installations.
Key Features
• Designed specifically for HF antenna applications
• Functions as RF Ground or Counterpoise System
• Stainless steel terminal and wire construction
• M16 mounting hole
• Excellent corrosion and weather resistance
• Suitable for long-term outdoor use
• Fast deployment and easy storage
• Reduced tangling compared to conventional radial wires
• Resistant to permanent kinks and twists
• Ideal for portable operations and field deployment
• OEM / ODM customization available
Why Stainless Steel Wire?
Most HF radial kits on the market use stranded copper wire. While copper offers excellent conductivity, long radial wires (5 m, 10 m, or longer) are often extremely flexible and tend to become tangled, twisted, or permanently kinked during deployment and storage.
The GW Series utilizes stainless steel wire, providing greater rigidity and spring-back characteristics. Because the wire resists sharp bends and permanent deformation, it is significantly less likely to tangle, allowing faster deployment and easier packing.
For operators who frequently assemble and disassemble portable antenna systems, stainless steel wire offers a practical advantage over traditional stranded copper wire.

Product Selection Guide
GW-1000 (10 m)
Recommended for:
• 160M
• 80M
• 60M
• 40M
Ideal for low-band DX operation, field deployment, and permanent installations.
GW-500 (5 m)
Recommended for:
• 30M
• 20M
• 17M
• 15M
The most versatile choice for portable HF operation.
GW-250 (2.5 m)
Recommended for:
• 12M
• 10M
• 6M
Ideal for high-frequency portable systems and lightweight installations.
Installation Recommendations
Attach the stainless steel terminal to the antenna ground point, antenna base, or counterpoise connection point, then spread the radial wires evenly around the antenna.
For best performance, distribute the radial wires uniformly around the antenna and avoid overlapping or bundling them together.
For low-frequency bands such as 160M and 80M, increasing the number of radial wires often provides greater performance improvement than simply increasing radial length.
